Cuba - Sancti Spiritus

On our eighth day in Cuba, we travelled from Camaguey to Sancti Spiritus, a distance of 200 km. Sancti Spiritus, located in Central-Eastern Cuba, is one of the original seven cities founded by the Spanish. Our time there was short, but I was able to capture a few photos that I like. This posting is short.

This view shows a classic building across from our hotel on the main square. The square was torn up for a huge archaeological dig.

Inside our hotel, the decor was 19th century Spanish. I liked the next two hallway photos.

As we walked through the town, we saw interesting people and street scenes.

These school boys were calling to friends through the window of their schoolroom.

We visited a community project called the Guayabera. Part of their fund-raising is through the sale of these shirts (the huge one in the background is not for sale).

The patio area is where the leaders do their community-building work, in the heart of the town.

We also visited the home of this professional writer - who composes love letters for her clients!

On the way back to the hotel, I photographed some more attractive passing scenes.

En route, George, Doug and John smiled for the camera!
